Magnifying the Priority of a Bug

Hi,

I have some thing to put here on bug's priority as......

I have seen testers exhibiting a tendency to elevate priority of bug when they write bug reports. Bugs come in a flow as we proceed on with regular testing activities. As we move on testing software the amount of bugs one pick becomes harder and harder. But there are times where bugs are still identified later in the testing process. Its a psychological compensation I feel, as tester tries to keep on pushing bug's severity high, to highlight that extra effort is needed on them. Dev's find that bugs which would have been regarded minor in early testing are suddenly becoming major issues. Once these major issues are harder to fix, the real pain starts... As this effect may also lead in more stress and a way of problems in reaching deadlines.

So when we push a bug...we need to be aware on selecting a priority level as its a major attribute in the bug report.

Balu.
