A sweet journey…

A sweet journey… [trimmed version]
After so many days..I decided to pen down the unforgettable journey so far..!

Who doesn’t like surprises? And the melodious feel that lasts longer!!

the year before – back in December 2010, I moved to our new campus..! It was a maddening feel all around to see such a desert class location on the day one. Had a warm welcome from the team though!! Was wondering - why did I choose this place???

A gut feel tweets my mind that I am missing the ambience I had before?
But had no choice and I later realised(ing) that something had driven me and driving me :)

Not sure if one believes or not:
An angel from heaven,
Sent by god,
Brightens up lives
When things are odd

Well, this claim hasn’t been proven; but it is a nice claim to believe..!:)

Worked with the best folks with high spirits, and never had a thought that
We’ll become best of friends.

The best of all the times
We have spent together,
And in times of distress
We have been together.

This journey of ours
it Has been so nice,
Full of happiness
well, countless smiles :):)

I never understood that a simple Hi with honoured smile would make the soul ecstatic until I met some new people!!!

Back to the word Surprises - I had saved loads of sweet memories and surprises..!! and thanks to all those who were the reason behind.

I am pretty sure on the finale that – It’s not the place but the people that makes a wonderful theme..!!

breathtaking were the days when we have strived for success!
Today they creep in our hearts in silence as memories!
Breathing in memories is not very good my dear folks!!
Let’s make some more afresh, and cherish all Those!!

Automatic Logon to Windows NT, 2000 and XP

Folks,
I have some good info to share with U in this post. something which is very useful regarding the logon attempts...this works fine when I've tried . Just put the hands on and U can find more tricks as well!

Here we go...

Windows includes a feature that allows you to configure the computer to automatically logon to the network, bypassing the Winlogon dialog box.

To enable this function you need to add several new values to the key below.

1. Add a new string value named 'DefaultUserName' and set it to the username you wish to automatically logon as.
2. Add a new string value named 'DefaultPassword' and set this to the password for the user entered above.
3. Add a new string value named 'DefaultDomainName' and set this to the domain of the user. Ignore this value if the NT box is not participating in NT Domain security.
4. Add a new string value named 'AutoAdminLogon' and set it to either '1' to enable auto logon or '0' to disable it.
5. For Windows 2000 the additional ForceAutoLogon setting must be enabled to stop the tweak from resetting on reboot.

Exit and restart, Windows should not ask for a password and automatically show the desktop of the user.

Note:
The password is stored in registry, which means anyone who has access to the machine has access to the password.

You can bypass this function by holding down the SHIFT key during the boot or logoff process.

It is also important to note that if the DontDisplayLastUserName value is enabled, the auto logon feature does not function.

See ya,
gud day!

Need for a Professional testing:

Today, the density of applications is growing rapidly. Competitive pressures and sky-high costs of applications’ failure toss the need for testing to greater heights. The quality of application delivery became an essential one while the time bound of the development and implementation phases of projects’ is shrinking.

Organizations throughout, knowing the need of testing, have started acquiring the best testing methodologies as “Quality” has it’s prominent place in the software industry. These methodologies are also used for capturing their testing processes’ efforts and for a better output.Application compatibility is one of the identified testing processes wherein different applications are tested for it’s compatibility with various versions of software that are available and yet to be released.

The increasing number of applications and it’s wide usage has a direct impact on system software. Therefore, application compatibility testing has a vital role in software development and it’s thump.

The testing process has acquired a prominent place in projects right from it’s initial phases and run in parallel with software development.

That's my view.
Thanking U.....
Balu.

Testing types : Outline

A quick look on Software Testing types: (An eagle view)
Levels of Testing: There are different levels of testing process in software testing life cycle.

Unit testing :

What is it?
Unit testing is part of the software development life cycle that makes sure that each bit of code that has been written, perform the function that it is designed to do.

Who does it?
The developer who wrote the code: plans, writes and executes the unit test.

Why do it?Unit testing is performed to improve the overall quality of the software that is passed on to the testing team and then to the client. This is done by reducing the cost of defects, as you are eliminating them while the application is still being developed, rather than waiting until the system testing phase.

Integration testing:

What is it?
Integration testing is the next step to unit testing. In simple form, two components that have already been tested are then combined, made into a single component and tested.

Who does it?
These tests can be done by specialists, or by the developers.

Why do it?
Testing integration of components, systems, and servers is becoming an increasingly important category of testing. Integrating multiple systems, in effect is building a common language to bind the systems together. Integration testing is performed to verify the operation of these language elements and of the entire integrated system, and to identify the points of conflict between them.Integration testing is performed in parallel to incorporation of different types of components. These components may be code modules or individual applications, applications of clients – servers on different networks.

System Testing:

What is it?
The testing performed in view of customer’s requirements is the system testing and this can be done in many rounds. System testing is performed once the entire system has been built. The behavior of system is tested in different scenarios.

Who does it?
System testing is also developer focused, though more number of specialist developers called system testers are engaged for this.

Why do it?
System testing is the phase where areas like quality, security, correctness are more concentrated. This also includes discovery of errors on features of the entire system rather than the individual components. System testing also involves a set of special tests to check whether all the functional an non-functional requirements have been met. The performance of the system is tested here.

Acceptance testing:

What is it?
Acceptance testing is generally performed to determine whether the software meets the customer requirements. This is a formal testing conducted to allow user, customer to decide whether to accept the product or it’s component.

Who does it?
Acceptance testing is performed by a group of end-users or clients.

Balu.
